  • Europe continues to drive global momentum, with June EV sales rising 31 percent year-over-year to roughly 530,000 vehicles, a record for the month. Strong policy support, national purchase incentives and elevated fuel prices have helped sustain demand across the region.
  • Regional performance remains uneven. China's domestic EV market declined 11 percent year-over-year in June to roughly 1 million units, while North American sales fell 13 percent to 130,000.
  • Chinese automakers continue expanding overseas as domestic demand softens, highlighting the growing importance of export markets to offset slowing sales at home and increasing competition in international markets. (Read More)

EVs accounted for 7.7 percent of U.S. new light-vehicle sales in June, 1.4 percentage points below the 9 percent share recorded in June 2025, per Omdia estimates. EV sales fell 7.8 percent year-over-year in June, a decline of roughly 8,800 units. Year-to-date EV sales have declined by nearly 223,000 units (29 percent) compared with the first half of 2025.
